So I find myself at a slight roadblock.

I’ve just finished a long running campagne  with my players, the final encounter ended and peace to the forgotten realms was once more restored (with a few extra craters here and there but I’m sure no one will notice except for maybe waterdeep missing half its eastern quarter).

And now my players want something new, there excited for darksun as I am but it’s not something we can play right now, but they want something new and interesting yet they don’t want to learn a new system of playing, so I dug around and came across my father’s ‘return to the mountains of madness’ from the Cthulhu rpgs.

I was wondering if there was already a conversion (fan made or otherwise) for the old Cthulhu games. And how well they run on a 4E system.

Not that I know of.  There is a book of Lovecraftian monsters available from Goodman Games, and I suppose you could adopt the d20 Cthulhu rules on sanity (5xWis, or perhaps 5xWill defense), but you'd have to work pretty hard to keep up the cosmic horror flavor in a game system designed for heroic fantasy...

Hello there! I hope you don't mind a little shameless self promotion. Epicyclic Games will be releasing a book that might interest you in September. It's called "Clockwork Adventures: A Steampunk Campaign Sourcebook", and it includes some Lovecraftian horrors. We don't have anything quite like san-loss, but our monsters do have some attacks that inflict madness. Check us out if you're interested. www.ClockworkAdventures.com
