| #1zombiegleemaxSep 25, 2008 4:44:29 | So my players are going to go into the City of Glass (from Vortex of Madness 2nd ed), a city covered by a dome on a floating iceberg. Its in the elemental plane of water (duh!). The PCs are going to retrieve a fourth of a key that is in the hands of the Ormyrr (huge worms with human heads and four arms). Now the ormyrr would like to learn how to fly and will trade the key for the power to fly (a PC can fly at will and can give that power to someone else). An old sahuagin enemy will make a comeback too. But I also want to weave in the feel of an adventure into the plane of water. I don't want it to be just decorum. I need sidequests, encounters, NPCs, hazards, stuff! Any ideas? |
| #2lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 16:45:33 | -Hmm... Hazards: Whirlpools, Kraken, Angry Water Elementals, Pressure, Currents, "Burn Water" (The Inner Planes), "Red Tides" (The Inner Planes), Dinosaurs! NPCs: Deities residing on the plane and their followers. Sidequests: Close a portal that is opened and is slowly drowning another world. |

| #4nymrohdSep 26, 2008 6:10:44 | Remember, marid are supremely arrogant schemers with a great flair for illusions. They consider mortals vastly beneath them, do not bow to any central authority and many challenge the Padisha at least when not in her presence. Schemes to overtake her are constantly afoot. Also locations in the elemental plane of water, more than in any other plane (I guess except for Limbo) drift with the constant currents. You can reasonably move anything close to your players if you want to. |
| #5lord_karsusSep 26, 2008 20:00:20 | -The PCs are the ones to do (wittingly or unwittingly) the assassinating? |
| #6lord_karsusSep 29, 2008 13:06:45 | -It's a timeless truism. ;) |
| #7lord_karsusOct 01, 2008 11:31:05 | -Hmm...I don't know if this is an item in 2e, but how about a Trident of Tritan Command. That way, if Tritan ever try to come after him, he has an "ace in the hole", so to speak, with them. |
| #8oklosoxOct 01, 2008 14:38:56 | Is there a portal from City of Glass to Sigil, or maybe a link to the Inifinite Stairway? |
| #9lord_karsusOct 02, 2008 9:20:01 | -Hmm...At first, maybe make it seem as if there are some Tritans are really the bad guys. But, in reality, it's the Sahuagin controlling them, and forcing them to do his bidding. Eventually, the PCs find out, and... |
| #10addle-cove-anarchistOct 26, 2008 13:20:13 | you could involve the Primals sect |
| #11addle-cove-anarchistOct 30, 2008 13:08:54 | they are in Planescape Monstrous Compendium III http://www.planewalker.com/encyclopedia/sect The Primals are a reclusive, little known sect based in the Inner Planes. The Primals are thought to believe that the inner planes, as the source of all matter, are the ultimate source of the secrets underlying all of the multiverse. like the elemental illuminati tough there are many ways you can play them |
