Making a dwarf barbarian. Wondering what peoples think is the most beneficial +1 strength feat. Will be playing with a monk if I use this character.

Well, without heavy armor...

and ignoring weapon master...

i see athlete, or tavern brawler.  I'd rate them about equal.

Don't forget +1 Str / +1 something else is an option too.

Like +1Str/ +1 Wis, and then later picking up Resilience Wis.

Your options are basically Athlete and Tavern Brawler. Tavern brawler I think is cool, because you can hit people with random objects. But if your DM likes knocking you over then maybe athlete would be better. If you can I would NOT pick up a strength feat and instead add another point to con or dex, but if you say have to pick a feat then I think tavern brawler is abstractly better though they aren't comparable.

You could also theoretically pick up heavy armor but it's kind of bad on a barbarian because you can't rage.... So..... Unless you wanted to be a worse fighter....

I'd go for tavern brawler.  Not strong but very fun and flavorful.

Tavern Brawler seems really weak for a monk....

You could *really* go against type, and be a monk in heavy armor.  ;)

So really, your only choice is Athlete, which could be fun if you have good str for those jumps.

OTOH, I think the best advice is to either keep your Str stat even, or to put +1 in Str and +1 in something else, and take a different +1 feat later.
