Even without a high Charisma score, you'll do be able to work as the instructor to gather information. Telling lies after the job might be a problem, though. I'd consider swapping Con and Wis for a better save when people use magic to try to discern your lies. Also, a Forrest Gnome would have the same scores and might fit the bill a bit better thematically (not to mention mechanically).
