Since getting advantage is one way to get Sneak attack, I thought it would be helpful to have a list of ways to get advantage. This is a work in progress, please post other ways I have not listed and I will try to incorporate.  This is currently in no particular order, mostly just me going through the Basic rules and some PHB.  Also, feel free to post novel or interesting ways to get these effects (like using a familar to aid, or shove to get a target prone).

Incorporating additional suggestions from below.  Thanks everybody!

1.  Attack a target while you are hidden.

2.  Attack a prone target within 5 feet.

3.  Have a friend use a Help action against your target within 5 feet.

4.  Have your familiar use a Help action against your target within 5 feet.

5. Expend Inspiration on your attack.

6.  Attack a creature that is squeezing through a smaller space (basic rules 0.2 p 71)

7. Attack while you are invisible or otherwise unseen (not required to be hidden).

8.  Attack a target affected by Faerie Fire.

9.  Attack while affected by Forsight (9th level spell).

10.  Attack a target affected by Guiding Bolt (1st level).

11.  Attack the target after using Feinting Attack on it (if you have at least 3 Fighter levels and took the Battle Master archetype).

12.  Attack a target affected by Otto's Irrisistable Dance (6th level).

13.  Attack a target that is Paralyzed.

14.  Attack a target that is Petrified.

15.  Attack a target that is Restrained.

16.  Attack a target that is Stunned.

17.  Attack a target that is Blinded.

18.  Attack a target that is unconscious.

19.  Attack a target after casting True Strike.

20. Attack a target a Battle Master Fighter hit with Distracting Strike.

21.  Attack in full darkness while you have Darkvision and your target does not.

22.  Attack first during a surprise round if you have the Assasin subtype.

23.  Attack while your Mage Hand distracts the Target using Versitle Trickster (13th level Arcane Trickster).

24.  Attack with Reckless Attack if you have 2 levels of Barbarian.

25.  Attack using Feint Attack gained through the Martial Adept feat.

Are you after Sneak Attack or Advantage?

Because if we're talking the former parking a familiar (or anything that counts as an ally that you can control) next to the target is also an easy way.

A couple more:

  • Attack the target after using Feinting Attack on it (if you have at least 3 Fighter levels and took the Battle Master archetype).
  • Attack a target a Battle Master Fighter hit with Distracting Strike.

-if you take 2 level of barbarian you get advantage with reckless attack

-you can also use Feinting Attack by taking the feat battle master which give you 2 maneuvers and 1 dice to use it.

- Be an assassin and be the first to act during a surprise round

- Be an arcane triscker and use your Mage hand to distract the target

Basically if you want a list on how to get sneak attack copy paste this list and add:

-Having a conscious ally within 5ft of the target since this is the only except to the rule saying you need advantage for sneak attack.

Versatile Trickster at 13th level can reliably gain advantage on their target using mage hand.  Must be an Arcane Trickster.

A subset of #17 Attack an enemy who doesn't have darkvision while having it yourself, in full darkness.

(Bonus: have warlock levels for the Darkness spell and Devil's Sight)

FreeMan, I don't know if you did this by mistake, but number 11 and 25 look the same...
