I'm trying to decide betwen staying with Warlock for a fourth level to get another feat or ABI (leaving 16 levels in Sorcerer), or moving over to Sorcerer right away, eventually reaching 17 levels in Sorcerer and gaining a 9th level spell slot.
My first instinct was to stick with Warlock and grab either +2 Charisma to max out my primary attack/spell stat, or a feat (probably War Caster or Spell Sniper), that way I get to enjoy the benefit for most of this character's career. Gaining a single level 9 spell slot, at PC level 20 (Sorc 17), it's like building a character around a capstone: sexy on paper, but I'll hardly ever get to use it. Of course, by the time I get to there, who knows what sort of rules for higher-tier play (beyond 20) might be available?
So what do you think? Warlock 4 | Sorcerer 16, or Warlock 3 | Sorcerer 17? |

I'll toss out inspiring leader as another good choice. |

Sure the Druid level 20 capstone is amaze-balls. But if a dip at level 5 helps me now, and I'm only likely to get to level 12... |

I would say access to Gate, Meteor Swarm, or Wish more than outweighs +2 to cha or a feat. It's a nonissue though if you don't usually play to lvl 20. |

Not that missing a single feat/ABI totally gimps the character, but if we actually make it to the endgame and don’t have Wish, I know I’ll be kicking myself. |
