"Pet" Classes

Hi folks, 

 

Wondering if I can get some general pointers here: I'm interested in making a PC who accomplishes most of his tasks through summons/pets/etc, but could use some tips on what classes/builds would allow this? 

 

I was considering fighter 3 for battlemaster, commander's strike to facilitate me ordering them around in addition to using bonus action to command them in general. What would work best though? Conujation wizard? Necromancy Wizard? 

 

Would appreciate any thoughts!

Warlocks have the best pets, at least until 6th level spells become plentiful (create undead).  If you don't mind being limited to a few short periods of availability, Druids are the best summoners tho.
