#1 HermanTheWize Apr 02, 2015 6:13:40	Here is the action surge desciption in the PHB.   Starting at 2nd level, you can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action on top of your regular action and a possible bonus action.    Does this mean you get another action and bonus action. Or is the second part just refering to the bonus action you already had, and you only get another action?
#2 Undrhil Apr 02, 2015 6:29:04	You just get another action with Action Surge.  It does not give you another bonus action.  Flip the two parts of that last statement around, so that the sentence starts with "On top of" and it might make more sense.   "On top of your regular action and a possible bonus action, you can take one additional action on your turn."   I still don't understand how people get confused by it because it says the same thing either way.  People just want to have that extra bonus action, I guess.

On your turn, you can take one additional action on top of your regular action, and a possible bonus action.

Totally different.   Anyway, this leads to the confusing dumbness of "you have a regular Action and a possible bonus action each turn," which is vague and leads to reasonable people misreading what is being said. I so hate what they've done with their system of names for actions.

#11 Yunru Apr 03, 2015 5:24:23	It's because they try too hard to not be like 4e, to the point where they fear having two different actions and a move. So now you've a move and an action and this "totally not an action" bonus action, but only when you're granted one. Thus confusing wording.
