Ok so I am starting new campaign in a week or so and I have come up with a concept, just need a little help fleshing it out. Stats after taking the human variant are as follows.

Str:12
Dex:18
Con:14
Int:11
Wis:11
Cha:14

I am planning on going Rogue first level. I spoke to my DM and he approved the use of the Spelless Ranger. So I was going to follow up the rogue level with 2 variant ranger (for the maneuvers and the fighting style) and then throw in a level of warlock (the Great Old One), for the telepathy. After that just go straight rogue with the swashbuckler archetype. So this is where I have a few questions.

1. When I get the maneuvers from variant ranger, what 2 would be best to take?
2. I am taking dual wielding feat from variant human, but is that the best option?
3. I see my feats as progressing like this:

1st: Dual Wielding
2nd:+2 Dex
3rd: Alert Feat
4th: Lucky
5th: +2 Cha
6th: Sentinel (though I am not sure at all about that)

Is this sound? Are there other feats that would be more useful to a swashbuckler rogue? What other feats would you suggest, or perhaps a different order as to when to take feats?

4. Is this character sound in general?

Any suggestions or constructive advice would me greatly appreciated.

*edit* DM approved the multiclass for ranger with lower Wis than 13 since it is a spelless ranger. I offered to move stats around and he said there was no need.

Also, I was considering just dropping the ranger levels and picking up more warlock to get the extra attack.   I will lose a Stat increase, but that extra attack would be nice.  Any thought on that?

First I like the idea.

To anwer you questions:

1.  I would take Trip Attack (So you can attempt to prone enemies and gain advantage on them) and Riposte(it's fluffy for the swash buckler adn allows you to get more hits in for extra hex damage, and as far as I can tell, you can sneak attack on other people's turns, PHBpg190, for even more damage.)

2.  I don't feel like duel wielding is even worth it unless you have the feat and fighting style.  So yes take the feat.

3. I think your numbers are a bit off, you 2nd feat doesn't come until you have 4 levels in rogue, which won't happen until level 7.

4. From my little experience, all characters are sounds, the game is about enjoying your character and the DM will adjust the game if he see you struggling, as long as you enjoy your character.  A daring swash buckle uses his charming wits, sharp sword and a bit of unnatural bad luck for his opponenets.  Some how his enemies always end up on the bad end of luck and suffer mysterious issues whenever he's most wishes for the help.

Final idea, you might want to go back and pick up 2 more levels in warlock for some pretty awesome bonuses after you get 3 levels in rogue and get your swashbuckler.  As for the ranger, you are right, you don't need it to have an effective build. But it looks to be rather fun setup and those maneuvers mesh well with the warlock abilties, all of them being refreshed on short rests.

1) Precision and Parry. Accuracy is important and Parry an save a life.

2) It's +1AC and an slightly more damage. Lucky is also a contender.

3) Maximize Dex first. It's plain Jayne, but it's the most important for you (unless the feat you list as 1st is from variant). Charisma adds to your Initiative and subclass features, I'd take it before a feat.

Maybe Resilient (Wisdom), since it's odd.

Well if you are going to go ranger for sure, go Rogue Ranger, Ranger, Warlock, Rogue++

If no Ranger I would look into 3 levels of warlock instead, even with ranger, you really are missing out on a lot of stuff by skipping that 2nd level of warlock.  At warlock 2 you get 2 invocations, they don't even need to be eldritch bolt related.
