If including Unearthed Arcana, I count four separate ways to specialize as a Lightning and Thunder specialist. Tempest Cleric, Favored Soul: Tempest, Stormborn Sorcerer and Dragon Sorcerer: Lightning. What are the pros and cons of each?

Don't forget coast druid. They are better tempest clerics than tempest clerics. The latter don't receive domain spells above 5th level and didn't get any of the nice spells in EE Player's Companion. So all-around "storm caster," give me a coast druid.

Interesting! I hadn't considered the Coastal Druid. Tempest Clerics gets to max damage on short rests. When it needs to die, that's a good ability. Druids can recharge a spell slots, can't they? My Druid knowledge is limited, honestly. Favored Souls gets Metamagic to do all sorts of stuff with, as do Stormborn. But FS get medium armor, and two attacks at lv6 so you don't burn your spell slots so much.

Unfortunately there's still no Land Druid Handbook, is there? Paging Mellored, paging Mellored...
