| #1HeirRaktusSep 08, 2014 11:04:51 | I was just looking through class features when I noticed that the Arcane Ward of The School of Abjuration is not temporary HP. It seems to me that it could combine well with a source of refreshing temp HP to form a barrier outside of defenses and saves. Something like a Warlocks Fiendish Vigor or Dark One's Blessing. Are there any creative uses of the two combining that anyones used before? |
| #2wills2009Sep 08, 2014 12:17:52 | Yes arcane ward is great but it's actually kind of hard to recharge it once it's down. It doesn't recharge on its own other than after a long rest when you re activate it. Otherwise, how many abjuration spells can you really spam to keep it charged up? |

My ten year old son made a Mountain Dward Wizard Abjurer. He uses a battle axe and hand axe for his attacks and if he's hit, uses shield as a reaction. He rarely casts spells, so the armor and the +5 from shield means he rarely gets hit, and when he does, it's the shield points that go away first. It's a very survivable wizard. |

Better off using defensive spells to not get hurt much, making the ward last a lot longer |
