In short, my idea is my character would be roleplayed as a character but is mechanically a warlock.

The idea for this build is to have a "Kind loving god that has no tolerance for the wicked"

I was thinking "The Fiend" pact would work perfectly for this, as you litterally had the ability to send them -through- hell.

Anyway, I was hoping for some advice and idea's for this type of build. I'm thinking a focus on fire type spells, as it fits well with the fiend pact and can be considered "Righteous Flames that smite the Wicked"

Besides just the "flavor" Aspect, I was also hoping for build help, as this would be my first character in 5th edition.

For what it's worth, I think that "righteous flames that smite the wicked" is, in D&D terms, radiant damage, like sacred flame, and that's something a warlock has in short supply! If I might give a suggestion to tweak your idea, keep both the mechanics and the story of the warlock. However, in this case, say that your warlock has been charged by heaven to bind the powers of Hell, and so to use the punishing infernal fires to lead the wicked in this life to repentence. That way, the character is using fiendish magic, but on celestial orders.

In terms of spells, to keep the theme, accent spells of fire, as well as those that bind (e.g. hold person or forcecage) and avoid the more obviously "fey" or "tentacled horror from outer space" ones. Also, you might want some of the cleric overlap spells, such as protection from evil and good or remove curse, to show that he's using his fiendish powers to serve righteousness.

Well, I didn't want to go into the whole background idea for my character because I was afraid it'd be judged too harshly but I might as well...

The idea is that a devil finds a young girl down on her luck and gives her both the power and confidence to turn her life around while claiming to be a benevolent god. She decides to then devote her life to him and becomes a "Cleric" of him and goes about spreading his religion and judgement. The devil, using her to gain followers and twisting his words to convince her even the horrible things he'd ask of her would be "For the greater good", More or less.

So in other words. She really will be a warlock, just convinced that she's a holy cleric to a noble god.

Hmm, not a bad idea, Plus I believe the pact of the tome could help with that as well, giving her access to divine cantrips from the cleric spell list, as well any other that may help.

As for the build itself, I was thinking Half-Elf for the +2 in Cha and then +1 in Dex and Con. Though i'm a bit torn for what to do with the stats? I believe 15 is the highest? Is so...do I take a 14 and leave it at 16? Since I'd likely be doing uneven dex/con so the +1 boosts it to even.

Also, how would I get spells like protection from evil and good and remove curse?

Cool concept. I, too, was going to recommend a Tome warlock. In addition to granting amazing mechanical benefits,  "Book of Shadows" could be flavored to be a book of holy scripture, or the like, gifted her by her patron, supplying fiendish magic framed in religious text.

I like your idea.  I prefer the phrase "purifying fire."  Plus a charismatic "fire and brimstone" preacher is a nice image.

Sacred flame is a cleric cantrip, which tome warlocks can get at 3rd level.  It doesn't compare to eldritch blast with invocation support, but thematically it is nice and how many times can you use e.b. before it gets old?

I would do human variant and get the elemental adept feat right away to boost the fire spells.  Produce flame is also a cantrip available to the tome warlock.

If your DM is open to it, another thought would be chain warlock with an imp or sprite disguised as a cheribum.
