As it stands, I've thumbed over the book quiet a bit and I was hoping for some help on character creation in terms of mechanical and story.

I have a few classes and stories I thought about going with so i'll go ahead and start off with my magic user.

Firstly, I was thinking of playing either a Wild Magic Sorcerer, Who's roleplayed as just a really clumsy Wizard. Could perhaps work something out with my dm to even make the wild magic trait have higher chance of happeneing, depending on the situtation.

I haven't thought of much of a story for this charcter, I just thought it'd be an interesting thing to roleplay. My biggest concern is that wild magic sorcer seems a bit...dissappointing, mechanically. Am I just not seeing its potential? Would also like some feed-back on the character concept.

Secondly, I thought about playing a "Demonic" Sorcerer. As the disciption says, Dragons aren't the only potential sorce. Since demon blood isn't a listed option, I considered "Fluffing" the dragon blood to suit my needs. Would obviously be a fire-ish element, could then just make his wings demonic and give him a "Demonic Presence."

As for story, I was considering either having a demon in his bloodline or possibly even cursed/possessed by a demon. I figure It'd be a very fun thing to roleplay as my character would struggle with his demonic nature/Influence. As his power grows, the demonic nature/influence would grow as well. I'm thinking his struggle would only make him grow stronger till possibly one tramatic event would make him lose control. I personally like this story but then again, I have a thing for demons.

Third, I was thinking of playing a warlock. Perhaps someone still innocent or naive. Potentially someone weak at first, someone very down on their luck untill a kind and noble "God" comes down to take pity, when it seems the world had turned their back on her. The young, naive woman accepts the help and power this noble being and becomes a devote follower. A cleric of sorts, in her mind. Doing her gods bidding. The twist being that the "God" she worships is obviously a demon of sorts, preying on her weak state.

I personally like the story for this the most and could potentially lead to some interesting twists later down the road. However, warlock isn't my top choice in class and i'm not really sure if they're any good or even how to make one good if they are.

Lastly, A bit of a bland character. Because, lets face it, not every character can be overly interesting. I'm thinking..a Farmer growing up, eventually joining the town militia to help fight off a bandit, which was led by a traveling adventurer. My character would train under this hero personally for a while till the adventurer had to part the town. My character would stick around for a while, helping keep the village safe before trying to head out on his own to become like his idol.

For their class? I was thinking some type of fighter that mimiced the crusader from 3.5. A bit great sword that they loved to cleave things with, as well. A bit reckless and massive magnet for trouble.

Any thoughts or Suggestons for these characters in terms of builds or backgrounds would be very helpful.

Also, I'm open to suggestions on Races. I tend to prefer to play humans for almost every DnD character but I have heard they're hardly top tier anymore.
