#1 MomokoCove Sep 11, 2014 22:03:16	Hi, my user name is MomokoCove so right now you can call me by my username or some variation of it. Now really isn't the time for introductions I suppose so I'll be quick and to the point.   Okay, so I'm very new to Dungeons and Dragons. I decided I want to make a character of a race that isn't commonly used. I don't want to make them specific to 5th edition per say but I wasn't sure where else to go other than here. To make this short and even more so to the point I'm currently working on a character of the Merfolk race and another of the Drider race. These are just some characters to familiarize myself with the game though for now since I plan to create many more as I startto play more. The reason I'm not playing 5th edition yet though is that I'm not currently able to buy the book but any help with getting me aqainted with character creation and the game would be much appreciated!

I was trying to make a basic race and class(Elf and Ranger) last night to play with one of my local groups DMs last night but she was a bit fed up with how long character creation took and basically gave me a ready to use Changeling Cleric. It is a really fun game so far from what I've started to learn though sometimes a bit hard to keep track of. We weren't playing 5th edition which would explain why character creation was slow. I'm hopefully going to join a larger group once I get a feel for the game but right now I'm just playing with our local DM for practice. Thanks for the help though, its very appreciated.
