I want to create a Tiefling character with multiple personalities. I am thinking as a young child she was brought up by parents who were mostly in the CG alignment who lived in a remote cabin, and one night when she was 5 villagers came with their torches and pitchforks and killed her parents in front of her eyes. When the turned to her she had a psychotic break and killed them all. Since this point she has been on the run from humans who want to kill her in vengance and from the law. In order to survive she developed 4 personalities. The first is what is left of the innocent child. This personality is extremely loyal to her companions and would willingly per herself at risk to protect them. The second is a theif who has a very specific code of conduct. She only steals what she needs and only from those she deems deserve it. She never steals from the poor. This personality is loyal to the group, but not at much at the first The third is a prostitute. This personality is extremely sexual and can be useful when a little bribary is needed.  The 4th only comes out when she is scared and in danger, such as in a losing battle for her life. When this personality is triggered she loses all concept of friend or foe and becomes a force of nature killing anything that strays in hefr path. In a depsperate situation the group might be able to trigger this personality and try to stay out of her way or get her back before she hurts thm. I have not selected a class yet and I dont know what would be good for this. Any suggestions?

Seems the class is not important.  A wizard who thinks they are a prostitute is still a wizard and a prostitute... a wizard who thinks they are a thief is just a bad thief.  Since every class can attempt to do any skill, the class isn't as important.  Since none of your personalities involve magical use, I'd probably stick with barbarian, fighter, monk, or rogue.  Bard wouldn't be a bad choice either just because since they're a "jack of all trades" they could convincingly play any role better than other classes.

This is more of a roleplaying thing than a class-specific thing, but you may want to consider multiclassing to get all the personalities down.  You definitely have to grab a background or class to pick up the social and thief skills needed for the thief and prostitute personalities.  The child seems a little paladin-y, but it will be extremely difficult to maintain the oath with this character, especially if the fiend comes out, so you might want to stick to roleplaying for that one, which any class can do.

As for the fiend, barbarian rage may be good for the frenzied state, but wasting an action to attack an go at an ally would in no way help her survival, so the friendly fire would seldom come up.  Alternatively, you could go with some sort of arcane caster fond of area of effect spells, making cooking an ally occasionally the right move if maximizing enemy deaths your goal (sorry fighter, but I can kill 5 kobolds instead of 3 this way!). A sorcerer or warlock sounds more fitting than a wizard, since the cha casting stat synergyzes with your prostitute half and the limited spell list can force you into AoE spells, plus the other personalities can't chuck the fiend's spell book if she goes nuts. Plus, your character doesn't seem to have had much arcane teaching, but if your fiendish blood awakened sorcerer powers or if great, great, great, great, .... great grandpa popped up with an offer, you could get the power to kill your attackers without formal training. And one burning hands (sorcerer only)  could believably take out a closely packed group of 5 villagers, especially if mom or dad got a hit or two in first, before they could kill a child.

If we are talking a 1st level character, a sorcerer with the criminal background gives you proficiency with thieves tools, deception, and stealth from the background, plus persuasion from the class and one other skill.  You grab burning hands as one of your first spells.  Unfortunately, there is not yet a fiend sorcerer origin option, so you can go with either origin (there will probably be a fiend option available in the future).

Really, you can play this with any class, though I'd suggest taking some necessary skills (criminal background basically gives you all of them though).

from what I saw

Innocent girl- 100% role play do not require any specific class or background

Thief: Your background give you profiency with Stealth, Sleight of hand, Thieve tools and 1 more tool or language, you can change personallity which make it hard for people to interogate you (the thief stoled an apple and a piece of Bread, but when the guard catch the little innocent girl eating the apple and with the piece of bread in her pocket, she got no idea from where she got them, simply they were in her pocket and she was hungry.

Prostitute: 100% role play but a high Charisma could help here

Destruction: Barbarian who rage could be a good representation, or a Sorcerer who go nova (quicken empowered fireball with a twinned empored firebolt in the middle of the ennemies even if the melee are still there... nova style) If you take wild magic Sorcerer and your DM is a cool guy who reward good role play, you might even be able to wild magic surge an other fireball (centered on yourself this time or drain 1d10 all living creature 30ft aroudn you and heal yourself for heal damage) Sorcerer also benefit from high Charisma and they got a good Constitution save to resist the STDs from the prostitute

ok so my group and I compromised to get me some of what I wanted but not trouble the group. MY character is a Tiefling rogue with PTSD caused from the backstroy I origionall y put in the thread her class is rogue specifically assassin and part of that is creating separate identities over time so I do get to have separate identities for her eventually, but I am in ontrol of those somewhat. She has a criminal background ad she does have lots of skills that would make stealing things easier. As part of the role playing I gave her proficiency in persuasion and She is going to use sex as a tool for persuasion. Now for the interesting part. My DM decides when a situation would make her feel threatened enough to trigger her ptsd. In orde to remain in control she has to make a saving throw. IF she fails she loses her **** becomes feral and attacks the most convientient tagets rather than just the enemy. My group actually loves this idea. They are treating it like a curse and will try to avoid dying because of it and will attempt to calm her down and get her back to normal. She is notmally CN  She is loyal to the group and herself but doesn't car at all about anyone else. I think this is going to be a fun character to play.
