#1 Red1121 Aug 19, 2014 12:03:43	Hi there.  I will be starting a new campaign with some friends very soon.  My DM had us roll for our stats, and I was told I rolled fairly well.    The rolls I have are 17, 16, 15, 13, 12, 11 (before any race or feat changes.)   I do not know alot about 5th edition.  Are there some classes or class combinations that would be nice to play normally, but are MAD, and that my rolls would make that class, or combination work very well?    Roleplaying wise I like melee combat, as well as ranged combat. I also enjoy casting evocation type of spells.  Being difficult to kill is also very fun for me.  In general, I like roleplaying elves, halfelves, and humans, but I am open to play other races.  Mostly I like playing something that is very good at what it does.   Aside from what I would generally like to roleplay; is there something that normally is hard to make work stats-wise, but is a very effective damage-dealer and/or is hard to kill, that my stat rolls would really work well with?    I know 4e had class handbooks on these forums, and starter players could get info on how best to optimize their characters and then tweek them to how they may want to roleplay them.  I haven't seen any handbooks yet for 5e, so I am hoping for any help here that I can get.   Thanks
#2 woif Aug 19, 2014 12:21:30	Paladin is the epitomy of MAD for a single class STR for heavy armor and big swings CON for hp and saves CHA for spellcasting WIS for those nasty saves   On top of that paladin is a very strong melee fighter, although they don't have many ranged options   That being said there are many multiclass combinations open to you with such a strong array. Really if I were you I would focus more on playing a class(classes) that seem fun to you.   as for class guides come back in a week or so and they'll probably start showing up, I know there is more than one person busy compiling information and playtesting different options.
