What would be a good thing to do with 10 hours of down time for my secound level cleric with the life domain ? I've got a few ideas but thought I would ask some veteran player what to do

In town go to a temple and heal or study tomes and that.

In a village attend to those in need.

Out in the wilderness look for herbs for healing.(just a flavor thing)

Hit the local tavern with your adventuring group, they might need some cure disease the next day!

A Cleric of the Life domain needs something to do "between dungeons" huh?

You could ask around town to find out if anyone needs any healing.  This gives the DM room to throw some plot hooks around.

You could visit the local temple to your deity, or a local temple in general, and pray.  This also gives your DM room to throw some plot hooks around, but also gives him/her a chance to find out what you are wanting to do, in the meantime.  For example, this would be an excellent time to ask your deity for an upgraded weapon (or holy symbol or magical McGuffin, etc.)

You could trade tales with the priests in the temple, instead of praying.  This also gives your DM room to throw some plot hooks around.  (See where I am going with all of these?)  Not all adventures have to start in a tavern, by the way.

I'm ending a campaign where I've been playing a life cleric for months, so I've found out the fun way.

I definetly depends on the character. My cleric was an elf, so time was less...pressing. So she would meditate. I should also mention that she was a single mother who brought her infant son with (long story), so she would pawn him off on teammates while she got some long-needed moments of silence.

But let's see...if they're more introverted, maybe a book? Like, not spells, just a good book.  I liked the idea of gathering herbs if they want to be busy and useful. Hell, downtime for a cleric is a good time for roleplay. Talk about things with fellow players.

Take a walk, admire scenery, people-watch, bird watch, dance, read a book, write a book, wood carving/widdling, play an instrument, talk, sing, cook, look for someone who needs a listening ear, tell stories, sew. Honestly anything that doesn't require a whole lot of mental thought. It's all about 'does my character find this relaxing?'.

Good luck, and I hope your cleric rests well
