So, if I had a weapon made for me that is a weird material, what are the stats and rules for it? Anyone know?

Well define "wierd" material... mithril and adamantine are special mats with their own rules, but there's mores!

*gazes into his crystal ball* I seee.... a claw... No wait!  A Talon! That of a green dragon!.... And it was crafted.... INTO A WARHAMMER!!!!

By default, there are no special rules for that. But any DM worth his salt will work with you on that. Unless it's league play of course. And then we must stick to RAW AND NEVER DEVIATE!!!!

Indeed, first define "weird"...

I've had a player that wanted a big, edged rock on top of a big tree branch to have the same stats of a great axe, so it was more in line with the "outlander" he created. Why not?

For me it's the same as roleplay, you can add variations, but as long as it is good with RAW, no problem.

A diamond longsword like in minecraft? sure, if you have the gold for it. It does have the same stats as a normal one however and is more likely to be stolen.

A peace of small oak bark that acts as a greatsword? hell no...

I'm pretty sure "weird" == a warhammer made out of a green dragon talon. See the linked post in my original post.
