| #1PilotiSep 12, 2014 6:56:35 | I found a thread from a year ago that talked about how there seemed to be no reason to select a Wizard over a Druid due to lower HP dice and Armor. There were some other things that just made it a no brainer as some would have you believe, but as I said this was a year ago so perhaps things have changed?
I'm looking at multiclassing a Monk with either a Druid, or a Wizard and imagine that it would be best if I used my Wisdom modifier to determine my AC. With armor/shield out of the question and Druids getting a d8 to determine HPs., is there any major reason to select a Wizard (d6) over a Druid (d8)? I'm not partial to one magic or the other, I just easy spell casting and survivability in close quarters combat.
By the way, I forgot to check, but is a Druid considered a striker or a controller? And the same question for the Wizard...striker or controller? |

Overall Wizards and Druids are very different classes with vastly different spell lists and class abilities. Whatever was spouted in that old thread is now nonsense, whether it was at the time or not.

Thanks for the info on the Four Elements Monk. It seems like a nice option, but I'm looking for my character to beat the living daylights out of something instead of just cast spells on it. |

Cantrip wise, druid get Guidance, resistance, Wizard get blade ward and true strike.
Druid are more support/controller type at lower level, while wizard are a bit more versatile (they have a wider variety of spell offering the possibility to do more damage, or more support or more control, or a little bit of each etc...) |
