I love the Druid spell list. I've got a character concept, Druid of Land fits it great... Except for Wild Shape. OK, for Land, it's got some utility. But I'd like to replace it with something, and I'm here to ask for balancing. Starting at lv6, you can add your spellcasting ability Modifier to damage rolls with spells and cantrips. Too much?

Hah. Waaaaaay to much. See: Pre-Eratta Elemental Affinity, without the elemental restriction.

Oh, I see what you're saying now! That's basically what I asked for. Hmm... OK. At lv6 you can add your Wis Modifier to cantrip damage? Is that better?

Sure. Seems alright, if not maybe a bit weak.

it honestly seems a bit lack luster to just replace it with + bonus damage... i'd create an entirely new feature, also don't forget you'll have to replace new features for  their level 18th feature "Beast Spells" and their 20th level feature "Archdruid" as they revolve around the Wild Shape Ability.

or you could create a new class option where this type of druid renounces/loses their wild shape feature ability and gets new features to replace their "generic druid features" and also their special archetype features as well.

One option that you could explore is that instead of actual wild shape, your druid could be temporarily imbued with bestial power, maybe take on the characteristics of the creature, and have some different attack options for a period of time. Strength of the Bear, Eyes of the Eagle, Speed of the Wolf, etc. Gain temp HP and claw or bite attack, that kind of thing. A bit like how shifters are in Eberron, but more mystical.

Since wildshape is a utlity ability for CotL druids, it ought to be replaced by a utility ability.  A once a short or long rest ability to summon a familiar (similar to find familliar, the wizard not the chainlock version) seems appropriate.  You gain utility and don't lose a spell slot so it seems comparable.
