Eberron 5e Campaign Character - Ranger or Barbarian?

We rolled stats for our Eberron campaign that starts next week. I got some decent rolls (17, 16, 16, 15, 13, 12). I am now wondering how to stat up my character. I am torn with class between Barbarian (Wolf Totem or Eagle Totem) or Ranger (Hunter). I plan to flavor the rage or the ranger spells as effects from a dragonmark (the mark of finding).

My character will be a Half-Orc member of House Tharashk named Makoa d'Torrn. His uncle is Lord Khundran d'Torrn. Makoa has been on a handful of assignments, but has not really been directly involved in much action. The assignments have included some bounty hunting tasks (that have been relatively easy, thus far, thanks to his dragonmark of finding) and some semi-lucrative dragonshard/byeshk prospecting in the Graywall Mountains. I am thinking the Outlander background.

Any suggestions on Barbarian vs Ranger? Would Str18/Con18 or Str19/Con17 be better (or whatever primary/secondary stats I end up having)? Anything else?

I am not sure what the entire party will be at this point, but it looks like the two other regulars are going Human Bard and Human Warlock (or maybe Wizard). Not really sure yet on their details.

It looks like Barbarian would stat out like: Str18/Dex16/Con18/Int12/Wis15/Cha13

In turn, the Ranger could look like: Str18/Dex17/Con16/Int12/Wis16/Cha13

I am really torn on this character for class. I can see either working thematically. Ranger seems better at finding the bounty, while Barbarian seems better at knowing what to do once they are found (but this is just a cursory glance).

Thanks!

I might try and flavor the Totem as manticore (the symbol of House Tharashk) and cherry-pick between eagle and wolf at various levels.
