Eldritch Blast Level

Forgive me if this has been answered before but... Does Eldritch Blast level up with my CHARACTER LEVEL or my WARLOCK LEVEL?

If I'm:

1 - Fighter

2 - Warlock

3 - Warlock

4 - Fighter

5-20 - Fighter

 

At level 5, would I get two beam Eldritch Blast? Three beam at 11th and four beam at 17th?

Basically, anything in the Classes chapter uses the class level. Anything outside uses character level.

 

Cantrip damage is in the Spells chapter.
