Eldritch Knight 8th Level Spell - What to take

I'm trying to decide what non Evocation/Abjuration spell to take at 8th Level. I'm a greatsword wielding, human hating Elf.

1 - Misty Sep - This is a great mobility spell, and since AL doesn't allow the Eladrin this is the only way to get short range teleport. My paladin uses this spell a lot.

2 - Blur - Great Defense

3 - Enlarge - More damage is always good.

Any input?

Did you take Find Familiar as your first non Abj/Evo slot at Level 3? If not, take it now. WAY too useful. Assuming you have a familiar already, I would take Misty Step.

I don't think I will. I kind of want to see how the class actually plays as is. I love fighter/mage types characters.

This character is a Tyranny of Dragons character. For Elemental Evil I built a Fighter 7/Mage 13. I want to compare the two and see how they play out. I posted a thread on this forum about the second build.

Misty step is so cool. I would probably pick that but I don't think its the "optimal" choice. You just don't have a lot of slots to spend to move a short distance unimpeded. Again, I probably would take it, but......

Blur is super powerful. If you have war caster too especially, so that you can make saves, though it's unlikely you'll be hit (and if you are you can shield). So that's a spell that will make you pretty invincible I would think.

Enlarge I've never been tempted by but the idea of an already buff fighter making himself bigger is pretty cool. Extra damage IS always good, and since you have more attacks than anyone, or will in a few more levels, you're going to maximize that bonus damage.

So.... Three different paths. Mobility, defense, or offense. Kind of up to you. I'd just pick whatever your character would do.

Wait, enlarge increases damage?
