| #1WanderingBardMar 10, 2015 21:29:11 | One of my player really wanted to play a faerie so I pulled up what I assme is a community created 3.5e faerie race. So I pretty much copied and pasted, changed the wording to a 5e format, and briefly surveyed it for any glaringly obvious imbalances. However, I have no idea if its balanced as it could be, and I also have no idea how to explain how her arrows do any damage. (She is a beastmaster ranger). Also I question if a -5 strength check penalty is too harsh. I also put a cap on how high up she can fly, but is that just being too restrictive? FaeriesAbility Score Increase: Dexterity increases by +1. Age: 1000 years Size: About 6'' to 1ft tall. Your size is tiny Speed: Your base walking speed is 10 ft Flight: You have a base flying speed of 30 ft. To use this speed you must not be wearing medium or heavy armor.
Dark Faeries Ability Score Increase: Intelligence +2 Weakness to Radiance: You are vunerable to radiant damage.
Animal Connection: You gain advantage on any animal related check, and the animal handling skill. |

| #3JRutterbushMar 18, 2015 10:08:43 | This is a race designed for 4e, not 5e. I'm not sure if you meant to do a 4e race and got the edition wrong, or meant to do a 5e race and got the stats wrong, but either way this won't work in 5e. |

| #5MechatarrasqueMar 18, 2015 13:11:19 | I would make the intelligence or wisdom bonus +1. So far all the PC races are "humanoid" (even warforged); seriously, does anyone want protection from good and evil to zap their PC?
I don't think that tiny warrior and glowing are sufficient disadvantages to give flight plus additional spells as racial abilities in 5e. I would rather let them turn on/off the light effect at will and have a racial feat to cast enlarge/reduce once per short or long rest. That also circumvents the whole "bloody" part to fey flash (even though I still like the bloodied condition). Also, flight speed should be cut down if they are wearing medium or heavy armor

| #9WanderingBardMar 18, 2015 16:04:41 | Changed it slightly. I'm sure they will come out with specifics for smaller races, but here are the tweaks I made. My player wants to play a faerie so im willing to comply because I dont think its too unreasonable to create a semi balanced PC class. |
