Hi guys

Soo after finishing my 2 warrior/ mage projects, it's time to go with one of my favorite 3.5ed class: the Favored Soul.

How to recreate the class using 5th ed rules? Well the sorcerer is the closest thing we have, so i went with it and made him a new sorcerer bloodline.

Celestial Bloodline

Your innate magic comes from the Heavens the most holy place in the Universe. You might claim Celestial blood somewhere in your family ancestors, or might have been expose to raw divine magic, or simply blessed by a powerful goodly creature. Whatever the case, magic churns inside of you waiting to be unleash on the world.

Alternate Spell List

When you choose this bloodline, you use divine magic, not arcane. You choose your spells from the cleric spell list, not the sorcerer spell list.

Alternate Spell Known

At 4th, 7th and 10th level you can replace one of your cleric spell with a spell of your choice from the sorcerer spell list. The new spell must be one levle lower than the maximum level you can cast, and you must have a spell slot available. Finely, the new spell can't be from the necromancy school.

Do you get martial weapon proficiency?

I am not sure that cure wounds and medium armor (without shields) is enough compensation for switching to the base cleric spell list, which is not as strong as the base sorcerer list (that was true in 3.5e too). So the limited spells known is going to hurt a favored soul even more than it hurts a sorcerer.

Blessed child: there is no such thing as "evil magic" anymore. You should clarify the phrasing.

To be honest, I think with the changes to spellcasting that 5e has, Favored Soul can mostly be done with story then needing a class now. This isnt the only thing that I think can be done with a bit of story and the background system then needing a new class and/or subclass. Gish characters already have a huge support in the Eldritch Knight. I think a lot of people forget that levels 1 and 2 are "apprentince" levels. It might sound a little odd, but I think your not a typical adventurer of the old editions untill 3rd level. But anyways, rant done.
