Hi, I want to make a Dragonborn Barbarian. I have read all of the articles I could find on the FR wiki about Dragonborn in FR but it is still very little to go on. here is what I do know:
+ Their nation Tymanther fell on the Faerun nation of Unthar, destroying it. + They are devided into clans + They are very militaristic + They hate true Dragons
We plan on playing in the post Sundering era to stay within the new meterial. None of us really have much FR experiance and I just wanted to make sure my guy fit the setting.
So here are some Questions:
1. Does their hatred for dragons include both Chromatic and Metallic dragons? 2. How well known are Dragonborn on the Sword Coast ? 3. Would most people be able to know a DragonBorn by sight? 4. Would most people have at least heard of Dragonborn? 5. How close is the DragonBorn description in the PHB to the DragonBorn of FR?
And as always, if you can add any information of Dragonborn in FR that you think would be helpful, just let me know! It would seem that a Path of the Berserker would fit better, but can you see a cool way that a Dragonborn Barbarian would go the Path of Totem Warrior instead?
just curious, Thanks! |

As mentioned above, lots of dragonborn come in with the Spellplague.
I have no problem with some dragonborn colonies (think "Chinatowns") in other cities across Faerun, which survive the Sundering basically intact. We do not have information what happens to Tymanther in the Sundering, but I will bet the big pyramid-city goes back to Abeir. Folks outside? You get to make that up as you go along.
For the long-term view, locate 3e Dragons of Faerun and Draconomicon. Races of the Dragon may or may not be of help also (I've never read it).
There are some threads in the Forgotten Realms forum (about two screen-heights below Player Help) that you may find useful. |
