#1 Zardnaar Oct 26, 2014 13:09:32	Found a gish build that works. Tested this out yesterday.   Valor Bard+warcaster+shield bash.    Basic idea knock people over and beat on them. Needs a big hitter in the party such as a rogue or great weapon user as knocking stuff prone basically buffs them as well.      The spell you use most of the time is enhance ability (strength). Against huge creatures you try and trigger AoO with dissonent whispers and use other bard spells.    Due to the feat requirements you more or less have to be a variant human.I had gauntlets of Ogre Power which made my life a lot easier. Said Gauntlyets came from Lost Mines of Phandelver Adventure.   Stats by level 8 Str 14 (19 w/gauntlets) Dex 14 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 10 Cha 18    You take Expertise athletics.   Since one can't really count on the gauntlets being aquired you may want to start the game with 16 strength and 16 cha if you are not human but it will take longer for the feat combo to come online. Half elves can start the game with 16 str and cha, 14 dex and 12 con. I was using medium armor. A human could have 16 strength and 14 cha I suppose.You could also roll the dice and gamble. Enhance ability could also come from another spell caster but to keep it up you kind of need war caster as you will be on the front lines.   We leveled up as well and the wizard took enlarge person as a spell. This also gives you advantage on strength checks and 1d4 bonus damage and increases your size limits which lets you shield bash huge creatures although I did not get the chance to test that part out much and failed to knock over a storm giant.    A multiclass fighter could also work and reduce the pressure on stats and let you be proficient in con saves and heavy armor. By level 10 you could also go Fighter 6/Bard4 ratehr than pure bard otherwise just splash a single fighter level.

For an archtype that has always been so popular, im surprised there wasnt easier ways to do it, sans 4e. Im glad you build is fun for you too of course ;) game on
