| #1Dragonbait09Aug 17, 2014 7:28:41 | Was wondering if this is a viable build using blade pact and fiend as patron. Thought it might be fun to play but wonder if I might need to multiclass a few lvls of fighter to help with melee. Would have to put some points in to strength so my spell casting might suffere some. Let me know of any ideas you might have for this |

It seems that we're going to be getting Bracers of armor and a few other magic items to help keep the AC of those classes with Unarmored Defenses roughly equal to that of people with heavy armor.
That said, dipping a single level of Fighter or Barbarian is nice, not just for the armor to wear, but because both of those classes have Constitution as a main saving throw, which means better Concentration saves.
Its a trade off. You will be getting some rather key features of the hexblade path late, which will hurt for a while compared to a main class, and the AC is probably going to keep pace with everyone else. But the AC plus Constitution saves is pretty attractive. |

Start with 17 strength, take Moderately Armored to get medium armor proficency and shield proficency, boosting your Strength up to 18 at the same time. Take a few levels, so you might want to fortify with extra THP from Fiendish Resilience Invocation until you get the feat, then swap the Invocation out for something a bit nicer at level 4/5 |
