I am working on a halfling warlock that will fill the scout role and try to have a lot of utility.

I am planning on Pact of the Chain and probably a pixxie or an imp (maybe even psuedodragon) for even better scouting.  Devilsight will make up for the halflings lack of darkvision and will work with darkness combo later on.  The main question I have is if 2 lvls of a rogue dip are worth it for cunning action, especially being a halfling making hiding even easier.  The skills and expertise will not hurt either.

I haven't decided on a patron yet either, but I am leaning toward either Archfey or Great Old One (seems to fit Pact of the Chain a little better).

Warlocks probably have the easiest time multi-classing since eldrich blast scales without warlock levels.

It still slows your spells down, but it's a pretty easy trade.

I would dip the full 3 rogue level to gain the subclass. Assassinate give you auto crit witch can be great when a lone guard see you you can quickly dispatch him and return to hiding. OR Arcane triscker will give you come additional spell casting slot that you can use to help hide.

Personally I love pact of the tome, to get guidance as a cantrip and add +1d4 on my stealth role, then add 1d4 on my perception check etc...

Great Old one is great for being able to tell communicate with your team without alerting the ennemy.

For season 3 I'm planning a rogue/warlock/shadow monk to teleport everywhere, scout and assassinate people right and left.

For scouting purposes, definitely go with the imp. Imps have at-will invisibility and devil's sight, for your remote viewing pleasure. This makes them useful in areas under the effect of magical darkness.

Level 3 Arcane Trickster for Mage Hand Legerdmain would be a good addition to such a build.
