General tactic is to run in first to take alpha strike. Using GWF style (w/glaive) along with Polearm Master feat and Sentinel feat (along with Impvd.Divine Smite) acting as disincentive to foes wishing to attack adjacent allies or try to get around you to go after allies. Protection fighting style would compete with Sentinel's reaction and Cutting Words as reaction, so opted to drop it. But it might be worth keeping just for the option?
Paladin 13 (Ancients) Key Spells: Compelled Duel, Aura of Vitality, Stoneskin, Heroism, Shield of Faith, Cure Wounds Revivify spell LoHands (using the trick of 1 point to bring an unconscious ally back into the fight) Auras of Protection & Courage & Warding (from Ancients) Nature's Wrath
Bard 6 (Lore) Cutting Words (make foes miss your allies, even at range) Bardic Inspiration Font of Inspiration Song of Rest Countercharm Additional Magical Secrets (for Warding Bond spell and 1 other spell) Healing spells
Cleric 1 (Life) Disciple of Life (boost all healing spells) Adds Spell Access: Sanctuary, Guidance, Spare the Dying
Feats
Sentinel Inspiring Leader (temp HPs to self and allies each short rest) Polearm Master +1 more
FYI, does Cleric (Life) Divine Strike stack with Paladin Impvd. Divine Smite (adding +2d8 radiant to all melee attacks)? |
