(not sure how much is in there, but it should have character creation rules. You have 27 points to spend if you you're using the normal point buy guidelines. A 15 is the cap for any ability score.

After that you add in your racial bonuses, in this case being +2 Dex and +1 Wisdom. So you could end up with 17 Dex and 16 Wisdom at level one. Put some other points into Constitution, that is important for every class. And then you have your stats. After that, work on what skills you are proficient in. The Ranger section of the PHB says what ones you can pick. Being a Wood Elf makes you proficient in Perception automatically. Your Background gets you two additional skill proficiencies. Then pick a couple spells. Your Initiative is your Dexterity Modifier (+3 if you have a 17 Dex), your proficiency bonus is +2. Your HP is 8+Your Constitution Modifier. Then write down your other bonuses from your race, like how you have Darkvision and can blend into natural environments for Stealth. You should be pretty well set after that, ask again if you run into trouble. |

But by the time I type everything out, you could just watch a YouTube video of character creation that'll walk you through it step by step. |

If that's what you want, Google "DnD 5e Pregen" and hundreds of pre-done character sheets, of various classes and race combinations, will come up. |

15, 15, 13, 10, 10, 8
This is a valid ability score array according to 'point buy'. This is what you're doing. As a Wood Elf Ranger, I assume you'll be using a bow. Dexterity and Wisdom are your most important stats.
Place one of those 15s in Dex, another in Wisdom. So after your Wood Elf racial bonuses of +2 Dex and +1 Wis, those are really 17 and 16. Understand?
Put the 13 into Constitution.
10 in Strength.
10 in Charisma.
8 in Intelligence.
So at lv1, you have 10 Strength, 17 Dex, 13 Con, 8 Int, 16 Wis, and 10 Cha.
Your ability score modifiers, therefore, are Str 0, Dex 3, Con 1, Int -1, Wis 3, and Cha 0. |
