So I bolted it onto the Barbarian and voila: Path of the Champion: The archetypal Champion focuses on the development of raw physical power honed to deadly perfection. Those who model themselves on this archetype combine rigorous training with physical excellence to deal devastating blows.
Path of the Champion Improved CriticalBeginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Path of the Champion Remarkable AthleteStarting at 6th level, you can add half your proficiency bonus (round up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn’t already use your proficiency bonus. In addition, when you make a running long jump, the distance you can cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Strength modifier.
Path of the Champion Fighting StyleAt 10th level, you can choose an option from the Fighter's Fighting Style class feature.
Path of the Champion Superior CriticalStarting at 14th level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20. |

That said, I've already run the numbers on this exact situation. You can check that link for details, but the tactical take-home is: Basically, Champion barbarians mean that anyone interested in melee damage should almost completely ignore the fighter, instead playing a very effective but also one-dimensional version of the barbarian, while anyone interested in the Fighter generally switches to archery or defensive styles as the primary focus of the class, and you may very well notice that the rest of your party expends fewer resources and has a higher survival rate in the adventures you've had planned. |

Nothing against the Barbarian, I like them being able to soak up damage, but in my little fantasy dream, it's the fighter. ALthough I have zero complaints about the Battlemaster love it. |
