Additionally, once you reach level 20 in a class, you may begin levelling that class again from level 1. Examples: Clive: Clive is a masterfull Assassin. Having reached Rogue 20 he must either Multiclass or take levels in Rogue again. He chooses the latter, and chooses Thief at level 3. Clive is now a Rogue (Assassin) 20/Rogue (Thief) 3. Sapphire: Sapphire is a level 20 Eldritch Knight with maxed out Dexterity, Intelligence and Consititution. She chooses to begin multiclassing Wizard, and takes the School of Divination. At Wizard 4, rather than an ASI she chooses to gain the Epic Boon "Boon of Quick Casting". Thoughts? |

A good boon idea instead could be allowing them to select path features from other classes or from their own class, and allow them a feat with them. The only reason why avoiding class levels is recommended is because there's no way to make it rewarding enough for the players. In short, you're actually weakening the party by administering such a rule. Epic Boons are really powerful and players should probably not have more than 3 by the time their adventuring career ends, unless you're willing to create more and more disasters to challenge them and continue crafting new Epic Boons to account for their increasing power levels. |
