| #1Napolean_WarlordSep 20, 2014 16:37:01 | We are shortly moving from the starter adventure (Lost Mines) to HotDQ.
If we keep the same five is that a legit lineup? Any suggestions for different race / class combos? We are generally doing fine in Lost Mines
(edit) here is the lineup from the starter set pregens and ---> potential swap out
Human fighter defensive style --> keep Human fighter archery style --> Ranger better in this role? Or choose alternate style? Elf wizard --> keep as abjurer Dwarf cleric --> keep Halfling rogue --> ? LMOP had some stealth, but maybe swap for a ranged caster (e.g. warlock) or a bard and pick up stealth |

Are you running your group AL legal? If so you wont be able to do this. |

| #4SorxoresSep 20, 2014 18:35:38 | By AL rule the first 4 episode of HotDQ are tier 1 adventure (for character lvl 1-4) technically at the end of LMOP you should have reach lvl 5 so not legal for the first 4 episode of HOTDQ. The pregen SUCKS they are SOOOO BAD, who the **** gave a greatsword to a archer??????
just create new character, seriously.
in your team you want a
-"tank/MeleeDPR" fighter/paladin/barbarian/cleric/druid can be great tanks with the right build. Mountain dwarf (+2Str/+2Con) Half orc (when fall to 0 hit point come back to 1 hp/long rest) are great race. - Support (Often Divine caster): Bard,Cleric, Wizard, druid can be good support - DPR/skill monkey: Rogue/Bard. Rogue do great skill monkey and halfing can hide behind a medium size creature and get advantage and sneak attack on every turn, making them decent DPR - DPR/controller (often Arcane caster): Sorcerer, Warlock, wizard, cleric/druid (but at higher level).
I would suggest that you create new character for teh first 4 episode (which will make the character reach lvl 5) and then your player can choose between there LMOP character or there HotDQ character.
By AL rule, if your LMOP are still level 4 (didn't took there long rest yet) your player could transform them into the new improved character from HotDQ in order to keep their item they got)
If you don't play by AL rules, do what you want, but Episode 1 is balance for a team of 4 character lvl1, episode 2 is balance for a team of 4 character level 2 etc... so if youbring character level 5 it will be SUPER easy and you'll simply rolstomp your way throught. |
