| #1AllaraAug 30, 2015 7:30:10 | I have seen several people post that their Dragon Breath does 2D10 or even 3D10. What are you using to get Dragon Breath 2D10? |
| #2YunruAug 30, 2015 7:37:55 | I haven't seen it anywhere. But the answer's probably by using a dragon. |
| #3bidAug 30, 2015 8:50:57 | Dragonborn, level 6 vs level 11. Same as all cantrips. |
| #4YunruAug 30, 2015 9:38:38 | Dragonborn don't use d10s though. |
| #5AhrimonAug 30, 2015 16:18:48 | Does the damage increase by level like a cantrip? I never noticed that. |
| #6Coredump00Aug 30, 2015 18:42:43 | Dragonborn Breath weapon is not a cantrip, and it does not use D10's, and while it does scale, it does not scale at the same steps as a cantrip.
It starts with 2D6, and adds a D6 at 6th, 11th, and 16th levels

| #7JackOfAllTiradesAug 30, 2015 21:03:34 | I'm having trouble remembering, but it's possible this might be a 4th edition reference. Dragonborn didn't start out with d10's for breath weapons (I think) but there might have been feats to increase their damage dice. |
| #8VulfAug 30, 2015 22:39:50 | Dragonborn from 4th edition were an actual race from Abeir that magically migrated to Toril through a world altering event. They had some decent racial abilities and enjoyed a lot of feat support. Their breath weapon attacks were usable as minor actions and didn't prevent you from making standard action attacks. They started off weak, but a couple of feats could give them great damage and utility, and you got a feat every 2 levels and they did not replace attribute bonuses.
In 5th edition they have pretended that this never happened.
5th edition dragonborn are aborted dragon egg fetuses that have little in common with the dragonborn from 4th. Breath Weapon isn't even an attack and is weaker than cantrips like eldritch blast.
If 3 kobolds fail their saving throws you might be able to kill them if you roll high enough. In this it can be better than dual wielding hand axes at level 1. And it won't pop you out of invisibility since it isn't an attack or a spell. |
| #9JackOfAllTiradesSep 02, 2015 13:30:42 | OK, but could they get 2d10 damage with their breath weapon? |

| #15WorBladeSep 02, 2015 22:40:12 | The Half-Dragom from the monster manual appears to essentially be a Dragonborn. And they have d10s for breath weapon. Don't know why the same bsic creature has two different names and different breath damage between PC and Monster version though. |
| #16AaronOfBarbariaSep 02, 2015 23:03:32 | Halfdragons are not dragonborn, the only similarities are because both are meant to have draconic features - it is a coincidence that the halfdragon example in the monster manual is humanoid like all dragonborn are. |

Now there’s an image that doesn’t leave swiftly. That should do 2D10 damage! |
