i have decided to get into d&d and as i am still getting used to the concept of a bond how does this sound for a background and apropriate bond (well when i was making it i started with a bond i realised that my understanding of a bond meant it worked better as an ideal then i worked out a way to make a bond of it then that just gave me a backstory) ive only got a basic idea so far

the charecter is a sage who left his academy because he disagreed with its views that knowlage should be for the elite (its important to note he realises the importance of the supresion of some knowladge to keep people safe he is no jullian assange or edward snowden) so it gives him an idle of knowledge for all and more importantly a bond of overthrowing his academy and granting access to all.

That sounds like a good background.  Are you already in a D&D group with a DM?  Ultimately, I would leave it up to your DM, and how he or she would incorporate that aspect of your character background into his overarching campaign/game.  As a DM/GM, I would easily take your background and hook it somewhere into our campaign etc. even having major story arcs around the possible overthrow of the academy or at least have some form of resolution between your character and that institution.  Have fun!
