Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been said before (i'm not getting any hits searching )

So we just started a new campain, first time for all of us in 5e some of us have not even played since 3.5.

So my question is, How do i bring up to the DM that i feel the exp is a little low for what challenges we have been facing.

case in point sesion 1: 4x zombie, 1x Minotaur (Weakened) we recived  85 exp each (6 man party) Session 2: 1x Ogre, 4x Stirge and we recived 120 exp each

The number's are different then they where in previous editions.  So i'm not sure what you expect.

Also, it's entirely upto the DM how fast you level.

The best bet for getting your expectations in line with what your DM is going to be doing XP reward wise is to ask your DM how he is determining how much XP to give out.

You could, upon hearing the DM's plan for XP rewards, politely express anywhere that your preferences differ so that the DM could then consider making alterations to their plan to accomodate you.
