How would you do this?

I've recently brought Durak the Redeemer, a Half-Orc Paladin I haven't touched since 3.5, into 5e because I moved and the place I moved to has AL events on Wednesdays.

He's going to be Lawful Neutral and take the Oath of Vengeance. Eventually, I want to cross class into Warlock and take the Great Old One pact. The idea is that Durak has become so obsessed with smiting evil where he finds it that he is even willing to risk his own insanity if it meant he more power to smite evil with.

Eventually, I'll be roleplaying him slowly subcoming to madness, but I have no idea how to pull this off. I don't want the other PC's to know what is happening at first, let alone that he even made the pact in the first place. I've never done anything like this with a character before so I'm a bit lost.

Paladin / warlock do fine together.  Probably start paladin 6 then go warlock 11.

Not sure how you would roleplay it without others noticing that your casting warlock spells.
