From this I get that there is a magical mark on the target that means you know where to strike it for more damage and helps you find where it is.
From my understanding Divination spells grant you knowledge about the target rather than effect the target themselves... mostly.
Personally I don't think anything about the spell should indicate to the target that they've been marked. They might hear the verbal component as you cast it, but whether you know what it is requires quite specialist knowledge.
However I would rule that Detect Magic would detect the mark (and that it's a divination spell). |
