The search doesnt seem to be working on my phone. Is there a list of ideas for illusions (minor illusion, phantasmal force, etc.) somewhere?

There's also a Wizard Handbook link on A Collection of Guides, with specific coverage of the Illusionist subclass.

Yeah I've looked at all that. I was looking for more of a discussion of what people have done with illusion spells or what ideas they've had on how to use them.

Varies by DM and spell. My comment history has a few posts on the topic. Here's an older one I often cite. There's a lot more questions than answers with respect to the rules.

Typical uses of minor illusion are to create cover to hide in or just to provide enemies disadvantage, light manipulating objects like a magnifying glass or mirror, ventrilloquism/impersonation, mocking a camera and powerpoint since those don't exist, or various distractions. If you want to get more manipulative with it you can create a 3d art canvas at a distance to mask your presense and fake invisibility. It's probably your most used spell because it doesn't require concentration or slots.

Disguise self is often paired with charm person or friends to take advantage of someone and then get someone else in trouble. Just remember its far more convincing to do something naughty while disguised and then drop the diguise when they come investigate you, than to do something undisguised and have them find an illusion.

Typical uses of silent image are to create light since minor illusion cant or create larger illusions like an ogre.

Invisibility is fairly straightfoward. The only non-obvious point is that it lasts an hour which is longer than a lot of people expect and doesn't mean others are automatically unaware of your presence.

As a ritual silence is used when you're being stealthy and about to do something loud like cast a knock spell and you don't want to alert someone of your presence. On the fly it's a beautiful caster takedown technique if you have a grappler on your team.

Phantasmal force is usually just another form of crowd control with very minor damage. Think blindness/deafness on an int save that does damage. You can get more creative if your DM is on board. It's good at what it does.

Major image completes the sense array which let's you create more convincing illusions but is often unnecessary untiil you get the permanent illusions and then the limit is your imagination.

Hypnotic Pattern might as well be AE save or die in my experience. If you can take a 5 mob encounter down to 2 mobs and nova the remainder it's fairly easy to ready your actions to attack at the same time and one shot the sleepers in sequence. I've stuffed the BBEG in a bag of holding the second it hit the ground and then let it asphyxiate. Setup a rocks fall, everyone dies scenario for when they wake up. Use your imagination.
