| #1OrwellianHaggisMar 15, 2015 6:22:20 | Imagine yourself in (your favoured setting). When I do this, I can't imagine single-classing. I'd want as broad a range of skills as I could get, to ensure survival in any situation. So here's the challenge: create a character, up to 20th level if you like, with the broadest range of skills, spells etc. I'm going to post mine soon. I think he'll probably be a gnome wizard, or possibly an elf wizard. |
| #2YunruMar 15, 2015 7:06:49 | Human Rogue 1/Warlock 2/Knowledge Cleric 1/Ranger 1/Bard 3. 15(+1) Cha 13(+1) Dex 13(+1) Wis 13(+1) Con 11(+1) Int 8(+1) Str |
| #3OrwellianHaggisMar 15, 2015 6:54:39 | I was hoping for a more in depth response, but thanks all the same for responding. To be more clear: which spells? Which skills? What equipment? When it comes to evening and you're in the wilderness, what do you do to ensure a safe night? How do you pay your fees in a tavern if you've got no money? |
| #4YunruMar 15, 2015 7:03:44 | All the skills bar 4, Expertise in 6 of them, 2 of which must be knowledge skills. Agonizing Blast and Eldritch Blast for a decent damage output, Devil's Sight to make up for the lack of darkvision. Other than that it's up for grabs. |

| #6Matau99Mar 17, 2015 18:02:33 | Someone figured out a way to get all skills proficient. It was beautiful. Original link.
Here's one version: Feats: Skilled (duh) +3 from Bard Race: Half-Elf +2 Background: Any +2 Class: At level 7. Rogue 1 (starting) +4/Bard 4 +1 (Lore +3) /Ranger 1 +1/Cleric 1 (Knowledge) +2 Expertise in 6 skills 1/short rest proficiency in any skill or tool of your choice for 10 minutes from Channel Divinity Jack of all Trades (1/2 proficiency in all unproficient ability checks, works on initiate)
3+2+2+4+1+3+1+2=18
Now we just have to make sure there's no overlap with the skills. |
| #7Mommy_was_an_OrcMar 17, 2015 19:36:54 | I'd go Rogue 1/Knowledge Cleric 1/Warlock 18. Lots of skills, playable from 1-20, 9th level spells, tons of invocations, blasty option so always reasonably decent. |
| #8AzedenkaeMar 18, 2015 0:01:15 | Multiclass Barbarian/Bard/Cleric/Druid/Fighter/Monk/Paladin/Ranger/Rogue/Sorcerer/Warlock/Wizard?
:3
To be precise, I'd probably take Ranger 2, Rogue 2 and Paladin 2. And Fighter 3? Basically whenever the class gets access to spells, if they do at all. |
| #9FighterFanMar 18, 2015 0:28:06 | I recently played with the same idea and came up with a "mostly bard" character. Kind of scientist / detective / knowledge seeker. He won't have all the skills, but he's got the jack of all trades feature for the 4 remaining skills. Plus some rather evenly divided stats and no feat.
half-elf rogue 1 / cleric (knowledge) 1 / bard (lore) 3+ background: sailor Str 10, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 12, Wis 14, Cha 16
At level 5 he's NOT proficient in 4 skills (Animal Handling, Intimidation, Persuasion, Survival), but in these CHA & WIS skills he's got at least +3. He's got expertise in 4 (thieves' tools, perception, investigation, stealth). And he's missing just 1 level concerning spell slots.
I love the 5e bard! |
