So my Barbarian just hit level 4 and need a little help figureing out what to give him next. Stats or a feat.

38 HP

18 str

12 dex

15 con

10 int

11 Wis

7 Cha

He's a totem warrior bear, so tankiness isn't a big isse, not opposed to getitng a tanky feat if there is one worth getting though.

A few options(Looking for more options though.):

Lucky

Greatsweapon master

+2 strength

Edit(More Details):

My guy is wearing a breastplate.

+1 greataxe

Polearm master with a halbred or glaive would have been a good option but scratch that.

I'd suggest looking at the durable feet (+1 Con and makes your hit dice better during short and long rests)... +1 con would give you 16 so your bonus would go to +3 which is nice.

+2 str is the obvious choice and is a better choice than greatweapon master at this level IMO.

Resileint (Wisdom) could be nice to help shore up your wisdome saves (it would give a big bonus with the +1 to wisdom and proficiency bonus)

Lucky isn't a bad choice and it will mostly help you on saving throws.

After thinking more about it I would probably either choose the str bonus or I would choose lucky since it can help on any saving throw (which is mostly what I would save it for).  The other options are solid and might depend more on how you envision your character.  Durable definetely would add alot of extra tankability for you throughout the day.  Resilient would help bring up your worst defense so you would be stronger against enemies that are typically harder for you.

I think you should seriously consider Sentinel, you're tanky and it will make you sticky and increase your battlefield control.

I use reckless attack sparingly, for when something has to die right now or something bad happens or if for some reason my guy would for a RP reason.

But yeah I think +2 strength is better.

So narrows the choices too.

+2 strength

Resileint (Wisdom)

Lucky

Sentinel

Durable

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry hard to choose since my party has been fluctuating. But believe it's going to be Barbarian(me), tanky paladin, bow ranger and a rogue(not usre how he's gonna play yet). We've had several session where only 2 could make it.

I had a Half-Orc Barbarian, Bear Totem, until lv5. I forcibly retired him. At 4, I took Great Weapon Master, or whatever it's called. I used Reckless Attack on every attack. I'd be doing around 50 damage on average per round at lv5. I was making my companions, a TWF Fighter and a Great sword Ancients Paladin look poor, even with the Pally's Smite. I have been on the other end of the spectrum, where I felt useless, so I talked to the DM and we came up with a way for my Barb to leave, since I couldn't get him to die in battle even while actively trying.

Lucky completely inverts Disadvantage (and any Advantage your opponent might have).
