| #1FrogReaverOct 01, 2014 3:33:49 | I'm looking for a list of all the spells that can remove a creature/creatures from play temporarily or even permanently
Type 1: These spells are some of the best for temporary creature removal. They require a single save for their lasting effect. Their base form should be single target only.
Type 2. These spells are some of the best for temproary creature removal. They are multi target. They can require either a single save or recurring saves.
Type 3: These spells require recurring saves for their lasting effect. Their base form should be single target only.
Type 4: No save spells that temporarily remove a monster (sleep is the best example)
Type 5: Permanent removal (planeshift is a good example) |
| #2FrogReaverOct 01, 2014 15:01:23 | Type 1: Banishment, Levitate, charm person, suggestion, eyebite
Type 2: Compulsion, Confusion, hypnotic pattern, fear
Type 3: Hold Person, Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Otto's Irrestible Dance (no initial save)
Type 4: Reverse gravity, Sleep
Type 5: Planeshift |

| #6FrogReaverOct 01, 2014 3:40:25 | To get started some type 1 spells are:
Type 1: Banishment, Levitate (suprises me levitate is actually a decent temporary removal spell in this edition)
Type 2: Sleep
Type 3: Hold Person |
| #7FrogReaverOct 01, 2014 3:52:18 | Other: Bigbys Hand
Type 1: charm person
Type 2: Compulsion, Confusion
|
| #8GladiusLegisOct 01, 2014 4:24:48 | Type 2: Reverse Gravity (doesn't even allow a save in many cases)
Type 3: Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Otto's Irresistible Dance (no initial save) |
| #9TimboramaOct 01, 2014 5:12:32 | How can no one have said the best one of all?!
Type 1: Planeshift
Seriously, it's a permanent Banishment, and you can just say "Plane of Elemental Fire" or whatever and then laugh as you knowingly cause them to burn to death, or suffocate...whichever happens first! |

| #15ClutchboneOct 01, 2014 14:17:01 | Type 1: Eyebite - 1 creature per turn gets sleep on failed Wis save (or panic, or sicken).
Type 2: Fear - creatures run away on failed Wis save, make 2nd save to not run away after line of sight is broken. |

| #17FrogReaverOct 01, 2014 15:03:17 | Good call on eyebite and fear. Didnt really think about either of those. |
| #18Treantmonklvl20Oct 01, 2014 15:13:20 | Type 4: Wall of Ice, Wall of Stone, Wall of Force |
| #19melloredOct 02, 2014 5:44:49 | Forcecage.
Leomunds Tiny Hut removes EVERYTHING from play. They remain trapped inside the "real" world. You can even lob arrows at them. |
| #20TimboramaOct 02, 2014 5:55:04 | Also, the same type as Sleep: Power Word Kill.
No attack, no save, but HP conditional.
And maybe Timestop...? Same Type as Leomund's Hut, perhaps, since it, essentially, removes everyone else from play for a certain amount of turns (no save) |
| #21awaken_D_M_golemOct 03, 2014 12:46:48 | Wiz Enchant 2 class ability, fits as a Type 1. And it's useable once per monster = defacto recharge.

| #23DaveDashOct 04, 2014 0:36:38 | Bestow Curse targeting Wisdom. They get disadvantage each round on a wisdom save if they fail the first, and if they fail on their turn, they do nothing. Level 5 version doesn't require concentration. |
