Looting the Body

So, I am playing a somewhat simplified version of Dungeons and Draagons, and despite not having many pack animals, my DM seems not to care about the weight of loot any of us are carrying, so long as we only wear one helm, one armor, one leggings, two one handed items, etc.

Anyway, my question is, since looting seems to be unlimited, what can I loot from a dead body that has already been taken for weapons, armor, gold, clothes, and genetalia (we have a weirdo in our group)? Essentially, what parts of the human body can be sold off later or be of use?

Stoner Stanley - how do you loot a body after everything has been looted?

I meant a body that has been looted of all conventionally useful objects, and is essentially a naked body on the side of the road. What body parts can be looted, and what can they be used for later?

When deciding to play a game designed around large than life heroes doing acts most can only dream about.... why do you want to waste your time cutting up body parts?  Not sure why anyone would pick Grave Robbing over Dragon Killing.....

Thanks to no longer *needing* money to buy magic... we often even skip taking the loose change. Not very heroic... even villians don't bother with change...

The value depends on who in the campaign is buying them. So ask your DM who buys what and "loot" accordingly.

In our game body parts are used to make potions and other magic items. The vivimancer and necromancer use them as componets.

Standard rule in 5e is that all the loot from  npcs is worthless and cannot be sold for money.

Anything worth money is noted as such.

So...you could probably animate dead on a corpse, but the zombie won't be saleable.

If the creature is inherently magical - dragon eggs, to borrow an idea - your Wizard could help decide what parts would provide Empowered Spell Components.  Off-camera (or disguised under a die roll) of course.  And your DM will still have to homebrew some rules for their effect when used.

You could turn an ogre femur into a Club, I suppose, and maybe get a +1 to Intimidate checks if you threaten to hit your target with it.

If you have a True Neutral Druid, get an IRL book on how to butcher a steer and have him use that knowledge to make travel rations &c out of your defeated foes - IF anybody will eat/use it.

Keep in mind that civilized NPCs may have strong negative reactions to your doings, unless you live in an environment where literally every scrap counts - on a glacier, extreme desert, barren rock plains.
