| #2supreme_slayerJan 27, 2015 9:10:23 | Not entirely what you mean. There's Stunning Fist. Way of the Open Palm doesn't stun, and it also only takes 1 Ki to use Flurry of Blows. You don't spend ki on the saves incurred by Open Palm's flurry attacks. I don't believe there is any other way to get the Stunned condition without magic. |
| #3jonathan_sicariJan 27, 2015 10:31:57 | Did I misremember? I did. Hm, that makes it harder. That means minimum level 5 of monk for a pure melee stun (sorry, brainstorming a character). |
| #4cowleymenJan 27, 2015 12:36:49 | Huh....There isnt a Battlemaster manuver that delivers stun condition? Seems like there should be. Seems like the prefect thing for stopping some one you dont want to kill. |
| #5Jordan175Jan 27, 2015 13:03:47 | Just checked, battlemaster does not have astun ability. It appears that the monk feature is the only way to stun as a martial. I should note that it can be used with any attack, not just flurry of blows, and is part of the base monk class, not a subclass.
Stunning Strike
To avoid confusion:the "way of the open hand" subclass feature that lets you push, knock prone, or prevent opp attacks with the extra unarmed attacks from flurry of blows, and ONLY the extra attacks from flurry of blows. |

Well, at least stunning fist merely specifies a weapon attack. I used to love using the Cavelier daze attack in 4E and I have been thinking of a rogue/fighter/monkish multiclass, based on the dealing death guide. Don't want to wait for level 10 for a character to come online though. Could do Fighter1/Monk5 for a two-handed stunner, be kind of MAD though. |
| #8YunruJan 27, 2015 18:05:26 | Not that MAD, just wear Medium Armor and use Str to attack. It does lock you into Str/Wis though, and a few Monk abilities won't work in armor. |
