#1 HermanTheWize Feb 20, 2015 5:57:24	If you were in a two person campaign with a monk(with great stats / way of the open hand). What would be your prefered second character. Trying to find out what would be a good compliment so I can have that as my back-up character.
#2 jaappleton Feb 20, 2015 6:04:14	Hmm... Tough call. I'm actually inclined to say Paladin. Can fight, can nova, can heal... But that limits you to two melee fighters, really. Barbarian, just so you kill everything faster than it can kill you. :D
#3 mellored Feb 20, 2015 6:13:15	Valor Bard.  Covers Cha skills, healing, utility, and ranged attacks.  And can stealth along with the monk as needed.

#10 SterlingRat Feb 20, 2015 13:00:33	The only drawback of Bard is that monks are short rest, Bards are long rest. You might be best off taking Frogreaver's advice for warlock... Get the short-rest recharge spell slots and a couple Paladin levels for the basic heal. Start Paladin for Heavy Armor, get Great Weapon Fighting Style and "Cure Wounds" at Level 2. Swap to Warlock, Fiend patron but... while blade pact is cool and will definitely be a good character, I would go tome for the extra cantrips - Shilelleigh will make you SAD. You can always go to Paladin 5 if you find yourself really missing that extra attack.
