So my friend will be doing a test DM run because he is dming for the first time. So basically this is his first session before he takes over after I finish my 6 session campaign.

So I was thinking of a intresting build I could use.

I want to have an intresting combat mechanic, and also an intresting out of combat quirk I could couple with my rping.

For example two builds I am considering is...

The typical Bard skill build (but I might save this for his actual session)

or

An illusion school wizard with metamagic to be able to cast minor illusion without making a sound. Then I can create an illusion out of no where. I get into a sticky situaton? Call out to my "bodyguard" around the corner, an illusion of a 7 ft hulking dragonborn with battle scars everywhere in full platemail and intimidate my enemies to backing off. Need to get in? Create an illusion of the commander and waltz right in, no sign of me casting a spell.

Pretend I have an invisible companion, who appears (when I "cast" the spell) and aims an arrow straight at the enemies head and tell them to back down or die. ETc etc etc.

I was wondering if there were any other intresting builds that fuffill my above conditions I could use in this single session? And if there are none what you think of the illusion build, and any other optimizations I could make.

This session will feature us at lvl 5.
