So I modeled my character after the Herculean Grappler under the Grappler guide. AC is 17 without shield. He is a dwarf. He is a level 5 fighter, tavern brawler. So he uses a sledgehammer as improvised weapons. 18 strength, 13 int. We got a sorcerer, ranger, and barbarian. They try to sneak, I try to wrassle! also, I disarm and throw. My stealth is hilariously bad for the group of rogues. I'm going artificer for the next 3 or so levels then I go rogue. Any advice for spells next level?

Artificer isnt officially a class yet. Do you have any levels in Wizard already? What level spells do you have access to?

Well artificer 2 is when you can make growth potions. You hit alot harder and have advantge on strength checks.

first level wizard for ya would proably be, shocking grasp, true strike (slows you down a good bit damage wise but increase chance of rolling a crit), ray of frost (slow them runners). 1st level spells would probably be shield, Protection from evil and good, feather fall, jump, false life, Expeditious retreat.

Of course 1st level rouge gets you yours athletics expertise ;which is required to be good.

I personally wouldnt go past artificer 2 as a grappler. Your losing alot of health that way
