For pirate side I wanted to make an incredibly ellusive character using warlock for the war caster pole arm master combo to eldritch blast people away that get too close. My initial reaction was to go rogue until I saw nothing I'd regularly use would get sneak attack. My next thought was to go with shadow monk seem to fit real well. I can't think of many other more fitting elusive combos but I'm taking suggestions. BTW is there anyway to help ones party seethrough darkness spell? |

I don't have the book on me, but Disarm, Parry, and Trip would be good, and I'm sure there's one for slowing down enemies. Monk with very high dexterity could be fluffed as knocking aside swords with palms. You may be able to persuade your DM to show you to use the arrow catch ability with melee weapons instead of ranged. If you take the magic initiate feat you could select the blade ward spell and refluff it as a brief few seconds mental prep for fighting unarmed against armed opponents.
