Hi, so my porblem is finding a good mount for my character (who happens to be a large size creature). after you add up his weight and equipment weight the mount would need to be able to handle 1,200 lbs. relatively easily (would prefer that to be a light load for the creature, still gotta worry about loot, lol). my dm and i both think that i my mount should come from the same kind of region as my character being the frozen tundra/ mountain regions. the only restrictions my dm said i had were, It couldn't be excessively huge. It has to be able to get around in cities and towns. and it has to actually be able to be trained as a mount. any ideas?

Wooly Mamoth.  Huge (enough to carry your character), smart (enough to be trained as a mount).  Should be strong enough for your needs.  Tundra habitat.  Your DM would need to homebrew stats.

As size large, you're going to need something size huge by the books.  Not much getting around that.  Also, humans train and ride real world elephants.  No reason a wooly counterpart would be too big.

Other then that, perhaps some sort of oversized dire wolf, or a plus sized elk (which honestly can get pretty massive even in real life)?
